Polyurethane Deck Coatings / Waterproofing
For urethane deck waterproofing applications, we use a liquid-applied, high-performance, polyurethane waterproofing system. The system utilizes an epoxy primer, one coat of a fast setting, chemically cured, two-component, polyurethane elastomeric basecoat with a rubber aggregate that can be applied at any thickness on concrete, plywood and metal surfaces, and one- or two-coats of an aliphatic polyurethane topcoat. Polyurethane and Polyurea products are available for water features, ponds, tank liners and as alternatives to TPO liners for substrate waterproofing.
For the proper maintenance of your deck or other surface's visual aesthetic and structural integrity, a regular recoat is necessary to protect against the elements.

Polyurethane Deck Recoats
Recoats refresh and preserve the integrity of your current waterproof coating. Polyurethane decks require recoat at intervals depending on amount of rain, freeze and UV exposure. Industry standards are first recoat in 3 to 5 years after deck construction. And 5 to 7 year intervals there after. The surest signs that a recoat is required are decay such as loss of gloss or sheen (fading) or cracking in your topcoat. These are signs that a recoat is needed. Further neglecting to recoat will allow your surface to become porous, soak up water, and cause damage to substrate and structure.
A more frequent schedule can provides even greater protection in areas near Puget Sound where the saltwater air can increase the deterioration process. Neglect can lead to expensive structural repairs and the necessity for completely new waterproofing.

Damp Substrate Treatment
Moisture Vapor Treatment (MVT)
Our MVT solution is a low viscosity, water-emulsion, penetrating epoxy primer designed for use as a moisture mitigation treatment on concrete with excessive moisture vapor transmission or damp surface.
Post-Treatment Options
Finish treatment can be coated with epoxy coating, left smooth or with a media broadcast to give tooth for other overlayments such wood, tile, vinyl and carpet.
